29  Themes and colors

Model plots use the rtemis.draw theme system. Its default theme follows the page or system color scheme. A supplied theme fixes the figure’s appearance.

29.1 Set a plot theme

rtemis.draw::draw_scatter(
  iris[["Sepal.Length"]], iris[["Petal.Length"]],
  group = iris[["Species"]],
  theme = rtemis.draw::theme_light()
)
rtemis.draw::draw_scatter(
  iris[["Sepal.Length"]], iris[["Petal.Length"]],
  group = iris[["Species"]],
  theme = rtemis.draw::theme_dark()
)

rtemis.draw::theme_light() and rtemis.draw::theme_dark() accept font, color, axis, legend, and tooltip settings. Use named colors or palettes consistently when the same group appears in several figures.

29.2 Standalone Plotly graphics

The standalone rtemis::draw_*() functions use rtemis Theme objects. Their theme constructors and options form a separate plotting interface.

rtemis::draw_scatter(
  iris[["Sepal.Length"]], iris[["Petal.Length"]],
  theme = rtemis::theme_whitegrid()
)

options(rtemis_theme = "darkgrayigrid") sets the default for these standalone functions. The rtemis.draw themes guide documents the theme system used by model plots.
