2  Installation

This guide describes the rtemis 1.4.2 API. rtemis requires R 4.4.0 or later. Algorithm backends are installed according to the methods used in an analysis.

The R-universe package page lists the available build. Use the development source for APIs ahead of that build.

2.1 Install from R-universe

install.packages(
  "rtemis",
  repos = c("https://rtemis-org.r-universe.dev", "https://cloud.r-project.org")
)

2.2 Install the development source

install.packages("pak")
pak::pak("rtemis-org/rtemis")

2.3 Load and inspect the package

library(rtemis)
packageVersion("rtemis")

The first model uses CART through the rpart package. Other backends include ranger, glmnet, lightgbm, and torch. Neural-network methods require a working torch runtime in addition to the R package. Backend requirements appear in the corresponding setup function’s help.

install.packages(c("rpart", "ranger", "glmnet"))
help("setup_CART", package = "rtemis")

R scripts can run from a terminal or an R-capable editor. HTML output appears in an editor viewer, a browser, or a Quarto document.
