The assessments block of a YAML file, in the shape map_curriculum() takes. write_assessments() writes that file; this reads it back, so an extracted-and-edited set of items can be attached to a course:

Usage

read_assessments(file)

Arguments

file

Character: Path to a YAML file carrying an assessments block.

Value

Named list: One character vector of item text per assessment. Where the file cites source material, the resolved records are carried in the "sources" attribute, positionally aligned with the items.

Details

course <- read_course("objectives.yaml", "assessments.yaml")

read_course() calls this; use it directly to look at the items alone.

Keeping the items in their own file is what makes the edit reviewable: the block is a draft a model produced, the objectives are not, and a diff over one file says which of the two changed. A file carrying both blocks is read by read_objectives() alone, and this is then unnecessary.

The parsing is read_objectives()'s, so an assessment written as a mapping with text and source reads here exactly as a session objective does.
