The per-criterion view of check_level_consistency(). One row per course objective, answering the question an edge table cannot: is this objective's cognitive level reached anywhere in the sessions aligned to it?

Usage

level_gaps(x)

Arguments

x

data.frame: The result of check_level_consistency().

Value

data.frame of from_id, from_text, from_level, from_rank, n_aligned, max_to_rank, max_to_level, reached, n_ok, n_under, n_over and mean_delta, ordered with unreached objectives first.

Details

reached is the column to read first. An objective with reached = FALSE has no aligned session at or above its own level – the course claims an outcome that nothing in it asks students to perform. That is a curricular finding; a scatter of individual "under" flags beneath a high-level objective usually is not, since lower-level sessions are how students get there.

An objective with no aligned session at all appears with n_aligned = 0 and reached = FALSE, so a gap in coverage and a gap in level land in the same table rather than one of them disappearing.
